Passing of Prof. Gaetano Crepaldi

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Prof. Gaetano Crepaldi, an internationally renowned geriatrician who left an indelible mark on the landscape of Italian Geriatric Medicine. He peacefully departed on January 24 at the age of 93, in his home in Padova, Italy.

Prof. Crepaldi received numerous international awards from various medical societies in recognition of his outstanding contributions in the field of geriatrics and metabolism. He was the visionary founder and first President of the European Interdisciplinary Council on Aging, fostering a close and productive collaboration with EuGMS from its inception.

Today, the geriatric community mourns the loss of not only a brilliant scientist but also an enlightened leader, whose legacy will endure in the hearts and minds of those touched by his wisdom and compassion. Prof. Crepaldi's life's work serves as a reminder of the profound impact one individual can have on an entire field, leaving behind knowledge and inspiration for generations to come. May his memory be a source of solace during this difficult time.
