SARCUS Meeting

On the 11th of February, a SARCUS meeting was held in Antwerp. Colleagues from Germany, Spain, Belgium and Turkey came for a one-day training course on ultrasonographic assessment of muscle. This way, they were able to join in on a study regarding acute sarcopenia. In this study, specific muscle mass parameters are measured with ultrasound upon admission of a patient, and then after a certain amount of time the same parameters are measured. The acute change in muscle mass parameters during hospitalisation is thus investigated. We hope to present already some data at the upcoming EuGMS congress in Krakow later this year!
