FAR SIGHT - Frailty and Resilience SIG Hot Topic

The EuGMS is glad to introduce this new initiative created by the leaders of the SIG on Frailty and Resilience: Matteo Cesari, Andrew Clegg and Rene Melis.

The project consists of bimonthly open online meetings to discuss relevant developments and papers related to intrinsic capacity, frailty and resilience. The meetings will be organised in a journal club format to exhaustively discuss a paper, after an introduction by one of the authors.

The first meeting will be held on Monday January 25th from 4 to 5 pm CET.

Prof Cathleen Colon-Emeric is professor of geriatric medicine at Duke University School of Medicine. She is one the pioneers of physical resilience and will present the paper:

"Two Approaches to Classifying and Quantifying Physical Resilience in Longitudinal Data"

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/30993327/

We hope to engage you in discussion after the presentation, so you are stimulated to read the paper and prepare questions and your discussion points. At the beginning of the meeting we will provide some further guidance on how to organize the discussion. Be on time, mute your microphone when you're not talking and enjoy this moment with your colleagues!
