MEETING POSTPONED TO MONDAY APRIL 12th 4 to 5 pm CEST

We are glad to invite you to the second meeting of FAR SIGHT - Frailty and Resilience SIG Hot Topic -

The project consists of bimonthly open online meetings with SIG members (and others Participants) to discuss relevant developments and papers related to intrinsic capacity, frailty and resilience.

The meetings are organised in a journal club format to exhaustively discuss a paper, after an introduction by one of the authors.

The second meeting will be held on Monday APRIL 12th from 4 to 5 pm CEST.

Topic title -  Intrinsic capacity: structure and predictive value in the ageing population
https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/31678933/

The presentation will focus on WHO's published work on intrinsic capacity (BMJ Open paper) and highlight the outstanding questions that need to be answered in future clinical research.

The paper will be presented by Dr Jotheeswaran Amuthavalli Thiyagarajan, epidemiologist at WHO. He is responsible for operationalisation of intrinsic capacity concepts for clinical and population settings. He also led the development of clinical guidelines, which aim to improve the intrinsic capacity and functional ability of older people.
