A new year and new calendar of meetings for FAR SIGHT - Frailty and Resilience SIG Hot Topic!
We have now reached the 6th appointment of these bimonthly open online meetings with SIG members (and others Participants) to discuss relevant developments and papers related to intrinsic capacity, frailty and resilience.
The meetings are organised in a journal club format to exhaustively discuss a paper, after an introduction by one of the authors.
FAR SIGHT 6 will be held on Monday January 31st, 2022 at 4pm (CET) - 60 min -
Title - Course of frailty stratified by physical and mental multimorbidity patterns: a 5-year follow-up of 92,640 participants of the LifeLines cohort study

While frailty is extensive studied for risk stratification, less is known about the course of frailty over time. In this paper we studied the change in frailty over time among persons aged 40 years and the impact of specific disease clusters. Additional data on this interaction with mental health will also be presented.
The paper will be presented by Richard Oude Voshaar, professor of Geriatric Psychiatry, University Medical Center Groningen and University of Groningen. Head of the training program for residents in Geriatric Psychiatry in Northern Netherlands. Research focus on affective disorders in later life, encompassing depressive-, anxiety and somatic symptom disorders orders. This research lines is clinically oriented, with focus on the impact of personality, cognitive performance and physical performance on diagnostics and treatment
