MEPs approve the Employment and social innovation programme

On 5 September 2013, the European Parliament’s Committee on Employment and Social Affairs (EMPL) approved the first social innovation programme (2014-2020). The priorities of this €815 million initiative are to provide support for young people, promote gender equality, combat discrimination and reduce unemployment and social exclusion. The programme (EASI) brings together current social action programmes, including Progress.

Of the programme’s €815 million budget for 2014-2020, 61% will go to Progress.
