European employer organisations:

On 8 February, the European employer organisations BUSINESSEUROPE, CEEP and UEAPME have drawn up 10 key messages for policy-makers in order to create the necessary conditions for active ageing to be an efficient and well-functioning policy principle in Europe.

The key messages are included in the final synthesis of the project on age management policies in enterprises in Europe carried out by these three organisations within the context of the European Year for Active Ageing and Solidarity between the Generations 2012. The joint project has served to underline the important role played by employers’ organisations and individual employers in making active age management in the workplace a reality.

The recommendations of BUSINESSEUROPE, the European Centre of Employers and Enterprises providing Public services (CEEP) and the European Association of Craft, Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (UEAPME) range from implementing flexible working practices to planning ahead for successful knowledge transfer.
