European Parliament:

On 24 January, members of the European Parliament’s Committee on Industry, Research and Energy (ITRE) welcomed the Council Presidency’s dedication to the Horizon2020 research and innovation framework. However, they express criticism with respect to the proposed measures to stimulate participation and effectively allocate funding. The plan is to reach “a partial general approach on Horizon 2020 by 31 May 2012”.The first step in the process is going to be an orientation debate, on 20-21 February, followed by a ministerial conference with all stakeholders. In March or April, an informal seminar will give stakeholders a chance to voice their interests and comments.
