Publication:

On 5 November, the Commission published a brochure entitled "The EU Contribution to Active Ageing and Solidarity between Generations", which sets out what the European Union is doing to encourage active ageing. While the main responsibility to support active ageing lies with the member states, the EU can mobilise a wide range of policy instruments to support national governments and other stakeholders in their efforts. This is why the brochure covers existing and future measures at EU level. The overall aim is to inspire efforts in all Member States to promote active ageing
